We stayed for the night as we had a wedding a few minutes away, the building is lovely and so are the staff, we meet a lovely young lad called Jacob Spinks, he is a credit to the hotel, he was very helpful, polite and just a pleasure. The room could do with a little bit of tlc but was fine for what we needed. Breakfast was lovely and the lady working was great, nothing was too much trouble for her. We would return

Absolutely fantastic

We stayed two nights here, the room was clean and basic but had wanted we wanted and needed in it. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied from previous guests and wasn't done during our stay nor toiletries replenished,but it's not a big deal.We ate in the pub noth nights and the food was really good,nice portion sizes, lovely friendly staff.When we were there there were several locals eating which is always a good sign.We would stay here again when next in the area.

Very convenient for Blenheim Palace & Oxford. Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. Visited for a short break with my sister. Would definitely stay again.

1st time that we have stayed here , our room was good (large room) and cleanbreakfast was very good as were the evening meals in the restaurant, and a very good choice of excellent meals and car parking was good.my only negative was the couple in the next room were up until 04:30 talking aloud. notthe fault of the hotel owners, may I suggest that a note put inn all room asking guests to respect other guests . will be booking the Sturdy`s Castle Inn again when in the area.

Great place with very friendly and helpful staff. Food is great and the Indian meals are amongst the best I’ve ever had. Will be the preferred destination for the regular trips I expect to take to the area

We had a lovely day in Oxford and then travelled on to Sturdy's Castle from the Oxford park and ride, not too far away, and had a pleasant, clean well presented en suite double room, as did our friends we were travelling with.Excellent meal, lots of choice and a great choice for breakfast the next morning.Thank you

We stayed here recently for 2 nights to visit Oxford and relatives near Witney. Reception staff very helpful on arrival, as was the breakfast staff member. Room sufficient for our purposes with good wifi and storage space. Breakfast menu had good options, though personally we would prefer not to have to decide the day before what time and what we wanted to eat the following morning. Toiletries were quite limited and not replaced for our second night (not convenient at the time to go and ask for more supplies of the small bottles/tubes).

A very easy, does what it says on the tin place. However, the management and general staff we experienced were exceptional. Accommodating, relaxed but professional and polite. Faultless really.

Stunning building as you drive up.Lovely food. Nice staff ,clean . only down side as I didn’t realise room were outside we were lucky it didn’t rain. Close to Blenheim palace. Lady serving dinner, breakfast and desk was a star so polite.Wouldrecommend only down side rooms outside m.

We had a superior room with two windows and a fan which was really beneficial on a very humid night.Room was very nice and comfortable.Service at the hotel was very goodFood in the restaurant was excellent

Booked at quite short notice as we wanted to look around Oxford.Used the P & R which turned out well. Good room & Shower. Had both our evening meals at the hotel which was good. Breakfast excellent.

Ideally placed for local attractions.In our case, less than a mile from the North Oxfordshire crematorium.Very friendly staff and good food.

This is an excellent hotel, great value for money. Staff very good. Pillows way to soft and tv’s need updated, but if that’s the only fault that’s good going. Food excellent and immaculately clean. I’ll definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting the area with my mother, food and staff were fantastic and location was great for Blenheim and Oxford , WiFi in the room was intermittent but that was ok didn’t bother us too much .

Chose this location to stay as close to Blenheim Palace as attending event. Very pleased, wellequipped room, comfortable bed. Pleasant staff, polite and friendly. Great breakfast. Good choice and would definitely use again if staying in the area.

We had a pleasant stay in the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The food in the restaurant was of good quality. The cooked breakfast was hot when arrived along with individual pots of coffee. The staff were courteous and friendly.

Sturdy's Castle is a nice place to stay. The serving people were kind and every time willing to help. The room was tidy and comfortable. Well prepared breakfast.

Booked a room as we were picking up our new puppy near by. Hotel is in a grat location to explore the area. We Booked in,then ordered tea. We had Indian and my wife said it was the best she had had for along time. mine was great too. Great value as well. Room was clean and tidy. great value,lovely pub and reallyfriendly staff, especially Charna who went above and beyond when I needed to change our booking. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had read the reviews so were optimistic that everything would be OK. It was better than OK - the room was immaculate and spacious and despite being near a busy road we didn’t hear any traffic noise at all. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a good selection of offerings. Some people may not like having to pre-book time and food choice the night before but it all made for a slick service in the morning. All the staff were lovely, professional but very personable.We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and were only sorry we were only there for one night.

Found the sturdy by accident after my usual hotel let me down with exorbitant prices and really glad they did.Location really easy to find, hotel looks just like it does in the picture and doesn't disappoint when you get inside. Bar/dining area is really welcoming, staff are friendly and food is good. I usually only stay one night but I can see you would be comfortable staying more nights in the rooms as they were clean and well equipped with everything you would need. Overall I would rate this as "definitely stay again!."

I should mention we were on the first floor, and there wasn't a lift; and there were problems with the hi-fi and TV.However, we were able to overlook this, because we were given such a warm welcome; the room was clean, and was excellent value for money.

We had a lovely stay, the food was excellent particularly the Indian food - best we have for some time. The room we had was a good size, bed very comfortable. Although next to a main road it was very quiet, great double glazing. Minor complaint - perhaps darker curtains or black out curtains would be a help, especially with the lights on in the car park, seemed to be light all night!The staff are very helpful and friendly.Sturdy's is well located for Blenheim palace which was the purpose of our trip this time.Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in due course. Had a great few days. Great location for Blenheim Palace and Oxford. Food good. Staff helpful. Room comfortable with everything you need and very spacious. Only issue was lack of pillows- need to supply extra pillows for each guest. However this would not stop us staying again.

Enjoyed our stay at Sturdy’s Castle. Staff welcoming & helpful, spotlessly clean well appointed room.Very good choice of meals from in-house dining room. We had a delicious Indian meal one night. Free off road parking a bonus. A very convenient location from which to explore the Cotswolds & Oxford.Highly recommend to fellow travellers.

Really peaceful spot. Room clean and comfortable. Very spacious.Staff kind and accommodating.Food excellent. The restaurant has two menus. One being typical English food, the other being authentic Indian fare. We chose the Indian menu in the evening as it caters brilliantly for Coeliac sufferers. Huge choice and delicious food.Both menus are sensitive to nutritional requirements.Breakfast was delicious too… and again caters very well for nutritional needs and sensitivities.

Lovely stay, both accommodation and restaurant excellent. Only criticism is on a,Sunday, Restaurantcloses early , also breakfast limited choice. Would be good to have some fruit yogurt, continental selection. Regarding rooms which are lovely, only criticism is although there was a grab rail outside the shower for my husband who was disabled. There needs to be one inside the shower for safety purposes.

Ideal for a short stay. Room very clean and comfortable. One criticism…….the curtain was very thin and the light was streaming in at a very early hour! Thicker curtain blocking the light when drawn would be preferable. Room was very quiet. Excellent breakfast, poachedeggs perfectly cooked!

From arrival we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff on reception and in the restaurant were friendly and efficient. We went for the Indian menu and were not disappointed. The food was tasty and well presented and the advice from the waiter was spot on.

We stayed two nights B&B and it was very good. The room was good. We had cooked breakfast each morning which was excellent (Vegetarian and full English). The room refreshment was very good.

Nice large room and comfy bed. We enjoyed the Biriani on our second night but the poppadoms were a bit disappointing. We expected one each but got a bowl of mini ones each. It was too much, we could have shared one. The roast dinner on Sunday was very nice but we would have preferred it to be hotter, but the sundae was delicious. Breakfast was good but again only warm, we would have expected it to be hot as it was cooked to order. The hotel was handy for getting to Blenheim Palace and the park n ride, so it was great for us, and nice to relax in the bar before returning to our room.

I booked one nights stay here and had a reservation in the restaurant for me and my boyfriend.We arrived before the check in time and had lunch and drinks in the garden.The staff were really friendly and helpful, lunch was super yummy. Hummus feels a little simple to have in a sandwich, but it tasted great! We were both really pleased, we ordered fries too. I'm glad I ordered us a portion each, although depending on how hungry you are, the sandwich and salad would be adequate.Our room was a decent size, with wardrobe, chair, TV, kettle, hairdryer, towels etc. The hairdryer is a little travel one, so depending on whether or not that suits you, you may or may not want to take your own.The bathroom was a nice size with soap and shower gel.The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night sleep. Thank you!The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious.We ordered both vegan main options to share, the lentil curry was lovely, and great for anyone who likes mild flavours. The chickpea curry was fantastic! Absolutely bursting with flavour; warm and smoky, not too spicy. Loved it! We both did.The staff again, were super lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside and villages. We had the pleasure of going for a run Sunday morning, gorgeous sunshine, passing beautiful gardens along the way. We highly recommend the Sturdys Castle Country Inn for everything,food, accommodation and friendliness.

We had a warm welcome, a large comfortable room with a brilliant bed, an excellent evening meal and tasty breakfast. All the staff gave excellent service. The photos don't do this inn justice, the whole experience exceeded expectations and we would definitely recommend it!

We wanted to visit Oxford but didn’t want to stay in the city centre. Sturdy Castle Inn was ideal. A convenient distance from Oxford Parkway Park and ride and nice and quiet at night. We had a lovely comfortable room and the breakfast and evening meal were great. Would definitely go back.

Very spacious room and en-suite , sky tv channels . Very very helpful staff especially Sue who moved peoples rooms so we could have a walk in shower . And one of the gentleman also gave us very good restaurant alternatives even though they had a lovely restaurant on site

Lovely place to stay - excellent position away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford etc but only 10mins drive to the nearest park and ride straight into the city! Also close to other nearby attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Woodstock village and Banbury (although very disappointed with Banbury!!)You stay I rooms set to the side of the coaching inn and set around an inner quadrant grass area. My sister and I were really impressed with the cleanliness and the daily service which restocked our toiletries and even new bottled water and biscuits every day! Twin rooms can often be cramped in such places but this room had one type of space to move around and included an a small armchair and table. The bathroom was simple but spacious with an over bath shower and great water pressure! One downside - we hate shower curtains and would prefer a glass shower door but that’s just personal taste! I think would have been nice to maybe have a few more drawers if staying longer and a few more coat hangers but these are little things that can be easily fixed. We found the mattresses were a little soft and commented to the reception staff on leaving but they explained that they have to provide midrange level of firmness to suit as many people as possible which I can understand.The breakfasts were superb! Plenty of choiceand home cooked to order and served after you have helped yourself to cereal, yogurts etc. We also ate at the pub/hotel on two evenings and the food was delicious and we did not have to book. Staff were really friendly and very helpful.The one drawback of our stay which we found was hard was the fact that you had to pre order your choice of breakfast for the next day. We were never sure what we would fancy at breakfast the next day - especially if we had unexpectedly been out for a late meal the night before. It would be great if the hotel would consider changing thisOther than that - a great place to stay, plenty of easy accessible parking on site - good food and lovely staff!

Another enjoyable meet up of 4 couples, we have stayed here before and find the location ideal as we travel from various locations. Each visit we have been made to feel very welcome, the staff are excellent. Rooms are clean and comfortable.You will go a long way to beat the cooked breakfast ... the addition of the Indian menu alongside the pub classics for a mixed party is excellent.Well done all and thank you, we will be back again !

We stayed for one night to visit Blenheim Palace. The roomwas clean and tidy although cold at first. Once we put the heating on it soon warmed up though.We ate in the hotel in the evening. The service was very good and the food on the Krishna menu was excellent. The best Rogan Josh I have tasted in ages. Breakfast was very good in the morning. Excellent value all round.

very welcoming place to stay staff very attentive and friendly, food very nice, bedrooms big and comfy and clean,a small comment i stayed in bedroom 8 and it has a lamp post outside so the room was very bright and difficult for me to sleep it needs black out curtains. i would stay here again ( but not room 8)

Large comfortable room, which was very welcome after a day of exploring Oxford. Good size room with a very comfortable king sizebed, TV with Sky box, tea/coffee etc, plus all the other amenities the website states. Pleasant restaurant on site. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Lots of on-site parking. Would definitely return again if visiting Oxford.Hotel approximately five miles from Pear Tree Park and Ride (£2 to park car for up to 16 hours) (£5 to park car and return bus journey into Oxford for 2 people)

Clean, well fitted and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast served very punctually. Very helpful and pleasant staff.

Our room was a good size with all the facilities you would need, the rooms are not in the main building so very quiet, the downside was that that the wifi was a bit dodgy. The evening meal gave a choice of pub food, scampi, steak, bangers and mash etc. or an Indian menu. I opted for the latter and had one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. My wife being a veggie did not have a great deal of choice but had a felaffel burger which was fine. Breakfast had to be pre ordered whcih was fine as we were under time pressure. I had full English, my wife the veggie alternative. It was a really good breakfast, tasty proper sausage etc. There was so much neither of us finished our plate. It arrived bang on time with plenty of coffee. All round an excellent stay at a very resonable cost.

We came to Sturdy’s Castle for a family gathering and decided to stay over. The owner and staff were amazing, couldn’t be more helpful. We had an afternoon tea for the party but got hungry later so ordered food which was lovely. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, not super special but perfect for an overnight stay. Breakfast was brilliant, so all in all a great stay at a lovely place

Lovely large room, spotless. Food was great too. Daisy was a total gem and looked after us so well.

Arrived late in the evening, room perfectly clean and tidy, lovely and quiet, bed really comfy, had the best sleep in a hotel in a long time.

We stayed for a couple of nights to visit Blenheim Palace. Given the price, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. The staff were great as was the food. We will be going back in the spring.

Although the weather wasn’t great we had a warm welcome, the rooms were very nice ideal for a short stay. The restaurant was nice and the food was good and a reasonable price with the choice of either a full Indian menu or a traditional English one

Room nice shower good room clean however black out blinds needed at the windows due to security lights right outside our room it was like we had the main light on all night so ruined our sleep food was very good and staff very friendly

We were part of the Pierri gtoup and stayed in room 20. We had a delightful stay, room was very comfortsble, and food was lovely. It was so nice to have the two menus to choose from. The staff were very helpful and attentive.All and in all a great stay, hopefully to be repeated.My only other comment would be for thebathrooms to have a little re vamp, maybe glass screens instead of shower curtains and better showers.

The room was really nice and clean, and the breakfast was exceptionally good.The only slight criticism was that the room door opened directly into the room near the bed and an absolute gale blew under the door, we had to put a coat across it as it was so draughty.We’d stay again.

Room and bathroom very clean, no frills but functional. Beds comfortable but only one small feather pillow supplied. Need new ones and 2 per person. Nice and quiet at night. Room heating can be controlled yourself which is a bonus, I've spent many nights in hotel rooms that are too hot or cold! Breakfast menu not huge but quality of food was excellent.My tip - book a 1st floor room, we were woken at 6am by guest above, squeaky floorboards and noise transmission.

Room clean and well serviced in the bathroom. Tea and coffee, with caffeine free coffee good. Needed more milk in the room as only 4 provided and 2 needed for each cup of coffee/tea. Only one pillow provided which is not enough these days. More is less. Needed to put towels under the pillow to raise it up. Many people have sleep apeneoa or breathing problems which needs consideration. Many hotels have addirional pullows in tbe wardrobe for such an issùe.

We were on our way to a wedding and our journey took about 2 and a half hours.We arrived at Sturdys Castle about 1.30 and the lovely staff let us check in our room early so that I could change into my posh frock!The room we had was clean and spacious. My only criticism would be that we only had one pillow each .Had a beautifully cooked breakfast in the morning in thedining area. We were served promptly and asked if we wanted extra toast.Cheerful helpful staff ....would definitely recommend.We hope to go back soon.We have stayed in some 4 star hotels that haven't been as good asthis one.

We stayed overnight whilst visiting Blenheim Palace which was only a 5-10 min drive away.We found the room to be clean/ well stocked with tea/ coffee and comfortable.We ate in the pub in the evening and had breakfast- both were delicious and a credit to the chef.We were served by very friendly staff and the special requests we had asked for were met without needing reminding.Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend and return if ever we were in the area.

Researched visit to Diddly Squat Farm. Lots of reviews of other places at similar price complain of traffic noise. Not so here- nice and quiet. Stayed in room 31. Lots of space. Lots of charging sockets with good biscuit selection with kettle and tea. All in all a nice room at bargain priceMet by friendly staff on arrival and at breakfast . Enjoyed all evening meal with pud and a breakfast. Chef is very disciplined . Everything sent out hot, clean and in good time.Many thanks for a great stay x

What a find. Comfortable, well furnished, inviting Inn. Rooms excellent, well furnish and roomy, bath and shower over bath, soaps etc., TV & SKY, tea, coffee and biscuits.Evening meal in the restaurant, best to book, was 1st rate. Order for drinks taken promptly and enough time for choosing from the menu and serving the three course meals we had.Food and presentation excellent.What can I say, well worth a visit

The staff were very helpful at all times, even when I said I would not arrive until midnight, they made arrangements. Breakfast was cooked individually and served at the appointed time. The room was clean and excellently maintained. Looking foreword to my next trip

Stayed at this hotel now a couple of times & although the rooms are clean, they maybe are a little tired - especially the bathroom (shower curtain) etc the friendly staff and fantastic breakfast will definitely mean we will return.

We stayed one night and enjoyed dinner in the pub. The food was excellent with huge portions, good value. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent and generous. We would highly recommend this venue.

We always enjoy our stays at the Sturdy. But 2 issues we don't like.First, we are always told that the kitchen closes at 7.45. This is too early. At most restaurants we would expect to be able to order a meal at 9pm.Secondly, it would be nice to be able to choose breakfast on the morning we have it, again, as with most restaurants.Otherwise the Sturdy is excellent.

Despite being close to a busy major road, we were surprised how quiet it was in our room.The room was very clean and the bed (most important) was very comfortable.All staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive.We hope to have reason to return.

Stayed here prior to a visit to Blenheim Palace. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was good; with ample gluten free options. Our room was spacious, comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep.

What a wonderful hotel, with very friendly staff and great food.Enjoyed our two nights very much.Not planned but actually having dinner at the hotel was a big plus. We had the masala chicken pea curry and the loaded fries.Both dishes actually loaded, but more important: very good taste. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals.If in the area (which will be likely) we will return there for sure (as other guests do).Worth while booking!

Spent four nights at Sturdys- our second visit as we stayed there last year too. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Had dinner there too which was absolutely fantastic. Staff are friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and will visit again next time we visit that part of the country.

A mix up with the rooms, booked executive room but also twin, was downgraded as the exec was a double. Twin room clean and tidy, small but perfectly adequate for 1 night. Lovely staff great ale enjoyed the garden, a small children's play area and plenty benches. The meal was good, recommend the scotch eggs for starters and loaded fries for mains. Full English breakfast was excellent. All the staff attentive. Thankyou

Booked a 3 night stay last week for a holiday visiting tourist spots in in and around Oxford. Having visiting Blenheim palace in Tuesday I was taken ill and admitted to John Radcliffe hospital. The staff at Saturdays were excellent from waiting for and guiding in the ambulance crew to supporting my wife throughout the week and enquiring after my progress. Can’t speak highly enough of them all. Home now and hopefully will try to revisit later in the year to redo the holiday to visit the places this time without a hospital stay. PS John Radcliffe were wonderful too. Well done Oxford.

Stayed here last year very good, this year a reduced dinner menu so if you are planning on staying for 5 or more days it will be a repeditive menu and only late sittings after 7.30pm Fri & Sat, so may not suit if youare a late eater. If you ask for the afternoon lunch menu- not what's already out on the tables, and you are staying at the hotel, there is a menu which offers you to 1/2 price meals for the afternoons only, which is brilliant.Blenheim Palace is only 5 minutes away by car and the Cotswold about 40 - 60 minutes depending upon traffic.Sky channels and free wi-fi available, staff are very attentive and the hotel is very clean - enjoy your break

It is always a pleasure to stay at Sturdy Castle. The rooms are very cozy and spacious, the staff always friendly and helpful and also the food is not bad. I also recommend it for its location, a quiet area but at the same time very close to Oxford.

We spent two nights there. It was clean and comfortable, with well appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff were all really friendly. Food in the restaurant was basic but very good and reasonably priced. Breakfasts were excellent. Rooms are on two levels in an annexe, with rooms 1-10 on the ground floor and external steel steps to the upper floor. There was a bit of traffic noise, but this was not a problem. We would definitely stay again.

The staff were very welcoming, the room was good value for money, and being located a little North of Oxford very convenient for both travelling into the city (via Pear Tree park and ride) and also a trip to the Cotswolds. Room very quiet at night, a little bit of whooshing noise from the main road during the morning commute but not at all bothersome.

Clean and functional.Wish there had been a few small touches to increase comfort-electric sockets beside bed,pictures hung on walls, adjustable showerhead, drink-making items automatically replenished for 2nd night of stay.

Stayed here as a convenient point between Stow and Bicester. Hotel, Dinner and Breakfast all adequate and good value. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful, would have no hesitation in booking here again.

Staying at Study’s Castle was so peaceful and comfortable. We experienced a warm relaxing atmosphere the staff were so friendly, bubbly and lots of warm smiles they could not do enough to accommodate all our needs. We only wished we could of stayed longer. The Manger was excellent and the cook who prepared our evening meal and breakfast…..thank you, your food tasted splendid. We would recommend Study’s Castle without hesitation.

Lovely, sympathetically restored coaching Inn on the Banbury Rd with comfortable spacious rooms and bathrooms. The staff are delightful and friendly and the food is generously portioned, tasty with Gluten free and vegetarian options. Drinks are reasonably priced. A novelty these days is plentiful free parking on site.

Arrived only for one night, easy to book in a reservation had been made for us in the restaurant in case we wanted evening meal. Room was in a motel style block very pretty. It was clean, warm and very comfortable with Sky TV. Towels and bedding spotless, toiletries including. Had drink and a meal in the restaurant food was lovely. Definitely stay there again.

Due to work I've stopped at this hotel many times. Staff are always friendly, courteous and professional. Evening meals are good but the breakfast is excellent. Rooms are basic but good value for money and always clean. Having recently stopped on a cold winters night it was great to walk into a warm room.

As a regular guest I use this knowing that staff are first class and rooms warm and comfortable.Each day items topped up in room and personal items never touched.Can't fault the staff.

Country Inn was lovely a great place to stay not far from Blenheim Palace. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

My husband and I were visiting family and going to Blenheim Palace xmas lights. We wanted somewhere close by to stay for a couple of nights (2 miles to Blenheim Palace). Sturdys Castle was excellent for location. The place was clean and our superior room was large and faultless. King bed plus 2 arm chairs and a table. Bonus of sky TV too. Food was very good and well priced. The full English in a morning was really good it definitely set you up for the day ahead. The overwhelming thing though was the staff, they were all so friendly and welcoming, all were genuinely lovely to chat to and had a wealth of local knowledge which meant we visited places we wouldn't have known about. Highley recommended place to stay.

Our room was beautifully quiet and clean, nice walk in shower. I couldn't get the TV to work as there didn't seem to be WiFi, but hey ho, we were only there for one night, and I didn't mention it to Reception.Breakfast was delicious and well presented.We would definitely stay again. So convenient if you are going to Blenheim Palace.

This is the third time we’ve been this year to Sturdys castle. Everybody is so friendly and the food is always great. Until this trip. My fish and chips had to be sent back twice once too over done and the second was cold in the middle.I lost my appetite after that. We did go on to have a dessert and then we did have a lovely breakfast in the morning . So that was great.:)

Overall very good - a small error with the restaurant bill was quickly and very professionally corrected by Charna. Nice clean room, bit of a pain to have to pre-order breakfast choice/time but appreciate the reasons there may be for that. Other hotels do not accommodate when you have allergies.STURDY’s CASTLE have gone above and beyond to help their customers and hence the reason why people always return.Great place to stay and easy access to other parts of the County.

Our room was exceptionally clean and spacious.All the little nice things that have disappeared in hotels recently were there, toiletries,tissues,bottled water, biscuts with the coffee and bath robes. We arrived late so didnt eat but the restaurant menu looked good. Breakfast was fairly basic with not many options for choice but was well cooked and service was good too. The only thing I could criticise was that on booking we were not told that rooms were upstairs and the stairs were metal fire escape type. It rained overnight and as an ederly guest I found the stairs a bit slippery in the morning. Would defiitely return and would request ground floor room. Location was the biggest factor for us and being just a few minutes from Blenheim was very convenient.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The Hotel, food and accommodation were all excellent. We were particularly impressed with all the staff we encountered and their warm welcome and friendly approach really made our stay very enjoyable. We fully intend coming back in the New Year.

Fitted our needs perfectly. Close to Woodstock, plenty of parking, clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and , above all, very welcoming, helpful and friendly members of staff - from checking in to table service. The facilities, food and the helpfulness and politenesses of all of the Staff was first class. The staff firstly on booking reception, were very helpful and if I needed anything at all just ask. I reported a minor maintenance issue during my stay which was rectified very quickly, which did not affect my experience in any way at all. I have already booked multiple bookings for future dates.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of the Dinner, N&B package. The rooms are basic, but adequate in a quiet area at the back of the main pub building. The food is of a very high standard and plentiful. Lots of choice for Dinner off the menu and the breakfast was delicious as well. All of the Staff are very helpful and courteous. My only criticism would be, all the tables are set up for dining and there is no where you can sit and just have a drink, settees etc. it would have been nice just to sit in the main bar before going through to the dining areas. Everything else was amazing 😁

Lovely hotel, our roomwas was on the upper floor. The room was big and well furnished with good facilities and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful and food is good. Just a couple of things that would help improveguests stay. The bar was not open throughout the day so if you go with family or friends you have no where to sit and socialise.The other problem was the floor on the upper level outside the rooms was quite slippy.We would definitely stay again.

I was due to attend an event at Silverstone circuit and although it's 24 miles away, I thought Sturdy's Castle offered character. I had a lovely room in the accommodation annexe and when I was leaving early and arriving back late, had a breakfast provided in my room. The bed was very comfortable and the location of the room was very quiet. On other days the full English breakfast was very substantial and delicious. I ate in the restaurant on three evenings and the staff and customers I met were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I thought the cost of my meals, with wine, was very acceptable. My overall experience was very good and I would recommend anyone to give it a try.

On arrival the team were very friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Our room was a good size and although a little dated was spotlessly clean. House keeping refreshed our room each morning with new supplies of tea and biscuits, a nice touch. The food served was excellent and again the staff were attentive and looked after us, working hard on what was the hottest day ever recorded!! Thanks again team for making our 2 night stay enjoyable and relaxing.

We were not sure what to expect being a motel style room, but the previous good reviews did not disappoint.The room was airy and comfortable having all the amenities needed.The shower was extremely good and as for the bed, comfortable was not the word, including the pillows, with spotless bedding.First class. Also Sky TV which is very unusual, normally being only Freeview.The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and menu are excellent.Be warned, they give large portions.Will definitely return if we are in the area.Thankyou!

Booked for the night before Blenhiem Triathlon. Room was a good size and very quiet. Ate in the restaurant the night before and the food was really good. Packed breakfast was offered as we were going to the Triathlon but we didn't need one as had a later start time. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend Sturdys Castle.

Stayed for two nights to visit Oxford and Blenheim Place. Comfortable clean rooms, lovely food and friendly staff. My wife does not like a cooked breakfast and there was no other option but they kindly went the extra mile and arranged for fruit and yogurt to be provided. Felt Covid safe. Certainly would go back.

Stayed for just one night with my husband and grandson.The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our rooms were clean.Our breakfast was very good as was the lunch we had on arrival.Blenheim palace is just a few minutes away by car so very convenient if you are visiting there.

We stayed one night as a family of five adults. A visit to Blenheim as all the accommodation in Woodstock was so expensive and parking a problem. Good beer and fresh cooked pub food, good breakfast (again all freshly cooked)and staff were lovely. Room clean (and good value) and spacious and although set on a main road, traffic noise was not too much of a problem. Taxi there and back with 002 was expensive at £20 each way, but lovely staff and cars.

I stayed for one evening for work as I was traveling betweenManchester and Bristol with all day meetings at Oxford Airport. I was late checking in due to meetings over running, but the hotel called and told me what time they were serving food until, or they could arrange something for me. I managed to get up to the hotel in time time and had a lovely freshly cooked meal and excellent service. I pre-booked breakfast for the next morning and headed up to the room. The room was spotlessly clean, Sky TV in room, bed lovely and comfortable and slept so well. Breakfast was beautiful, Eggs Benedict made fresh and really hit the spot and set me up for the day.Would definitely recommend and stay here again!Thank you

We stayed for one night for a visit to Blenheim Palace. Very quick check in. The room was spotless, nicely decorated, equipped with branded tea, coffee and water. Had toiletries, a fan, an ironing board a hairdryer And Sky sports!We had a nice few drinks in the bar but were hungry. Food had stopped being served but the staff were so kind and offered to make us a sandwich (which was delicious).Breakfast was served very quickly and was lovely.No mistakes with our order. Overall we had a great stay.

Room was ready on arrival, clean and tidy. Both the Full English and Vegetarian breakfast were excellent and kept you full for the day. Evening meals available in the bar and were large and reasonably priced. Numerous Bar Staff who were always on hand to serve you. Location is ideal to use as a base for Blenheim Palace, Oxford and the Cotswolds.

We enjoyed our stay. Nice clean room, large portions in restaurant- best steak I have eaten in a long time. Breakfast was very quick to the table and staff were friendly too. Only niggle were the people who stayed in room above who seemed to throw everything on the floor and bang around till late but not fault of hotel.

Travelled for work, visiting Banbury & Oxford. The location was great as I have equal distance of travel each day for my meetings. Great sized room everything you needed. Food was ok and there was lots of it. Would go again when this is all over.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room was very clean and well appointed with extra touches like bottled water. We were unable to get the TV operating properly but the manager came to the room and quickly sorted it out with a smile. In fact all the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. We met friends in the bar for an evening meal and were very impressed with the quality and generous portions. My husband declared the whitebait the best he's had and that's quite a compliment. Unfortunately our 2 night stay ended up as 1 night due to unforeseen circumstances but we would definitely stay again. I should mention that the staff are Covid aware and the hotel has been well modified, we felt very safe.

We stayed here as a base for a bike tour and found the hotel really friendly and helpful. Everyone made our trip great. We ate in the pub twice and enjoyed well home-cooked food with fresh salads. Perfect hotel for quiet stay. Hotel was lovely, staff were brilliant, location ideal and quiet.Rooms were ideal and quite comfortable with everything I needed for my stay.Food and drinks were reasonably priced and food was perfect with nice sized portions. The only thing that let the meal down was for me, a very personal point, but the English mustard portions tasted like American hotdog mustard, but I am a lover of Coleman’s mustard, but apart from that the whole experience was faultless. I will be back.

Four of us were walking the first 33 miles of the Oxfordshire Way from Bourton on the Water to Islip.Stopped here for the third night as only 2 minutes off the track.Excellent rooms and food.

Two problems with the hotel:-First is the location of the rooms, outside and up a slippy stairway and deck, we got soaked going to the restaurant for dinner.Second is the lack of lighting in the bathroom, a dingy ceiling light and badly placed mirror light. It was difficult to see to shave and for my wife to apply makeup.However the food was delicious, at a fair price with large portions, great!The room was large and well appointed with a comfortable bed.

Positives - Nice size room, comfy bed and very clean. Food in the adjacent pub, was average with a adequate portion. To be honest but I did arrive, 10 minutes before they finished service and may have some factor in the food. Breakfast in the morning is one of the tastiest I've had for years and I travel a lot installing EV points since 2012.Negatives: Room was cold on arrival and the double bed was like getting into a chest freezer. Suggest leaving the panel heater set at 21 and don't put it on just before a guest's arrival. Requested a copy of my debit card on arrival? (Paid via booking.com before hand and wasn't asked if I wanted to charge things to my room) Strange!

My second visit to this inn and just like before wasn't disappointed, the staff are friendly and go out if their way to make you feel welcome. The inn itself is beautiful and full of atmosphere from the room (warm and very comfortable) to the restaurant (comfortable with a good menu delivering great food) to the bar (warm, comfortable with a good range of beers and wines) this place is what inn's or hotels should aspire to.

Sturdys is a busy Inn near a busy road with comfortable good sized rooms in a rear annex. Food was very good and reasonably priced and service was good. I would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here with our friends on Saturday night. After a busy but enjoyable day at Waddesdon Manor Christmas Market, it was a pleasure to round off our day with a lovely meal in the restaurant. Our rooms were spacious and well-lit (a welcome change from other hotels!) The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. First time I have visited this hotel. The lovely lady on reception excelled in her customer service. She couldn't do enough for me. As it was late and I had a horrible journey this was a lovely welcome which I needed. The room was clean, and to a high standard and more importantly very warm on a night when the temperatures outside were below freezing. Will definitely use this hotel again.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and two other couples stayed with us for the Saturday night.Our rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped with good beds.Out breakfasts were excellent on both mornings catering for all tastes including vegetarian.We also had dinner on the Friday night and it was excellent, cooked very quickly by staff who clearly know what they are doing.Overall we were very happy with our hotel and will return.

A very well run establishment, all the little refineries you don’t even get in hotels costing a lot more than this. An extremely clean hotel, great facilities. Very friendly staff always accommodating and helpful. The food is excellent and a good choice, always fresh, and a great choice of drinks. Rooms are warm and inviting with free WiFi, water, tissues, hair dryer, iron and so on. We have stayed here many times and will do so again. A good ship is only as good as it’s captain, and the manager is very efficient and pleasant. Great place to stay, need I say more.

The staff are extremely helpful & friendly & put themselves out to make our stay enjoyable. They had a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order. We also had a meal in the restaurant which was enjoyable. The room was a nice size , clean with comfy beds.,hot shower. Nice play area outside if you had children. We stayed for 2 nights as we were going to a wedding. We would definitely recommend that if you were looking for somewhere to stay in the area this is the place.

We travelled to the area to visit the Countryfile show and were recommended to stay here by my sister, who had done so on a previous occasion.Have got to say we were very pleasantly surprised - comfortable ground floor room, clean and tidy bathroom, excellent bar and restaurant.One word of warning (and this is certainly not a criticism!) - if eating in the restaurant the portions are exceedingly generous, for those with a smaller appetite choose a salad or share!!!Staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful.Sturdy's was in the ideal situation for visiting the show - only 10 minutes away by car, on a back road, so missed all the traffic and drove straight in. Would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We stayed at the hotel for one night we were given a very warm welcome and shown to our room which was very comfortable. Our meal was beautiful and also the breakfast so many choices.We will definitely be coming back to stay again in the near future.

Overall satisfied with stay. Staff very friendly and helpful.But. Bed was a little uncomfortable with springs uneven and creaking when moving.The last night was disturbed as you know by someone in the carpark being noisy, but worse was the sounding of the horn with flashing lights in the early hours of Saturday. The staff tried to help, and were apologetic in the morning. We would appreciate some feedback on your investigations into the matter.

Excellent hotel lovely friendly staff stayed for 2 nights whilst down visiting our two sons who live local. Had a meal for 13 in the restaurant food brilliant and very reasonable. Definitely recommend we stayed 2 years ago whilst down for a wedding service then and now first class.

First time staying here and it was lovely, and I would consider booking here again. Good value, however feel that the bathrooms need a bit of a refresh (personal preference - I don't like shower curtains) and better lighting. Mattress was okay, and I slept fairly well. I would also have preferred semi-skimmed UHT milk. Sky TV is a great addition and makes staying in hotels a lot better! Food was lovely and service was quick.

A group of us stayed here for a night to visit Blenheim proms night. Good clean accommodation, friendly staff. Breakfast variety good too.

From the friendliness of the receptionist who took us to our beautifully furnished expansive room to the unexpected green surroundings our stay was a delight.The incredibly reasonably priced lunch at £11.95 for two, with it’s availability until 3 pm was deliciously fresh and the accompanying fragrant glass of Pinot Grigio not at the normally hotel over prices.Our only request would be for breakfast to be served until 11.00 pm. We shall definitely return - no more Woodstock central prices for us.

Excellent location for our Battle of Proms visit. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The en suite was not as shown in the photos but that is a minor thing. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly.would be happy to stay again and recommend.

We were in Kidlington for a wedding, and spent the night at Sturdy Castle. We were met by lovely and friendly staff, the room was spacious, clean and charming. In the morning we were a few minutes late for breakfast but they served us with a smile and no fuss at all. I’d highly recommend this place; we really enjoyed ur stay!

All was well. Breakfast excellent. Staff nice and friendly.. Our only complaint was the very narrow bath we had to climb in to shower and the subsequent attack by a persistent shower curtain. What about replacing the bath with a walk in shower.

Staff here are very friendly particuarly Charna who was very welcoming on arrival and again at breakfast. Rooms have what you need for a short stay but not luxury, fair price for what you get. The breakfasts were excellent better than expected. Easy drive of about 10 minutes to blenhiem palace.we would stay here again.

We recently stayed for 2 nights to attend Tears for Fears at Blenheim Palace. We found Sturdys Castle easily and as we drove up there was plenty of free parking. We were greeted ever so well by a young Lady on reception who was very attentive and friendly, informing us of all the information on our stay. The room was more than adequate for our needs and very clean with lovely daily room cleaning, also very friendly and efficient. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very good with reasonable prices. And the breakfasts were very good choice from Full English to yogurt and cereal. We enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly come back, Thank you to all the very friendly, professional team that made our stay a quality one, Nick and friends

Very convenient for visiting Blenheim Palace - just a short car ride away. Our room was very clean and had the usual toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities you'd expect. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. My only criticism would be my very lumpy pillow which impacted on my sleep but this is an easy fix for the hotel. Breakfast was decent with lots of options to choose from and all waiting staff in the restaurant and bar were very warm and friendly. A pleasant place to stay.

Both couples were impressed with the size of rooms and facilities. Locality for a night in Oxford followed by a wander in Woodstock the next morning was excellent. Breakfast was all we could have hoped for. Overall excellent value for money.

Perfectly comfortable stay but a few little touches would make it even better. Little pots provided outside room for smokers.. good idea except ours had not be emptied so first impressions not ideal. Hairdryer in room good but flex too short to stand in front of mirror to dry hair. Breakfast was very good and generous but fresh fruit and yoghurts with cereals would have been nice. However staff were pleasant room clean and would stay again..

Very friendly and helpful staff who were very helpful in ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. Full English breakfast was OK, but the mushroom and hash browns tasted of cooking oil and despite asking for well cooked tomato they were virtually uncooked.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely place. Everything was great. Our room ( 18 ) was lovely, really clean and well equipped, large comfy bed. The rooms are in a separate building . All the food was excellent, breakfast was one of the nicest we’ve had and the evening meals were all superb. Some friends joined us for an evening meal on our second night and they were really impressed. All the staff were friendly and helpful if needed, they all seemed to enjoy there work, which is always a good sign. The whole place was clean and well maintained. We will definitely return when visiting the area again. Blenheim Palace was just a short car ride away. . Thanks everyone.

We spend two nights at Sturdy's Castle Country Inn and found it to be well organised with clean welcoming rooms and a very good menu for all tastes.

Excellent hotel. Perfect location for Blenheim Palace. Wonderful food. Very clean rooms. Service was faultless.My only comment is that the walk in shower in our room, and presumably others, would benefit from a shelf for shower soaps & shampoos. Minor really but would make it absolutely perfect.

We booked Sturdy’s Castle as we wanted somewhere near Bicester at a reasonable price. Booking direct we got a good dinner, bed & breakfast package.Room was a good size, decorated nicely and clean. Rooms separate from bar/restaurant so also nice and quiet.Dinner was of a very good standard and big portions. Breakfast equally good.Lots of parking and on the main road so easy to find.Everything looks as it does in the pictures, food and drinks well priced and all the staff are fantastic - very friendly and helpful.Would happily stay here again.

This was our third stay and as before we had great beer, food my wife had a burger and said it was a proper home made burger and was very tasty I enjoyed fish and chips. Staff were as before friendly and helpful Charnna is a great front of house and we were greeted in a friendly way.Room was lovely a clean supplied with every thing with every thing we require. We will return and looking forward to it already.

Breakfast excellent with a lot of choice. Ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent too but I did feel that some of the prices were a little expensive. There is a lunch time offer of two main meals for £11.95 which is good value.One minor point would be the hairdryer is fixed to the wall and it has a short lead making drying your hair a little tricky, however this was just a minor point. I would definitely stay again. The friendliness and welcoming from the staff make the place. Well done.

Sturdys Castle is a great location for exploring the Cottswolds. Woodstock and Blenheim are well worth a visit but so is the nearby country house and Rosham which hasstunning gardens.Accomadation, staff and service cannot be faulted. Food is excellent but smaller portions would be more appealing. I'd definately consider booking again.

Once again we’ve had an excellent stay at Sturdy’s Castle. Our room was clean & made up daily. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is really good with plenty of choice. Hotel caters for all and is close to nearby villages and has easy access to Banbury, Kidlington and Oxford making it a good base to explore the area.

Great room with very friendly staff, the evening meal was also a bonus and good quality. One point, two comfy chairs in the room would have been nice for watching the TV as there was only the one. We would definitely come back when down.

First time stay at Sturdy's Castle Country Inn, very comfortable, good food and friendly staff.

I see that you have new management since my last visit.As an older female business traveller I would just make a couple of suggestions for room improvements. 1-the hairdryer is attached to the wall and behind the T.V it has such a short cord that I was unable to style both side of my hair and had to borrow a hairdyer. 2- a small magnified mirror which could be attached to the bathroom wall would be useful for make-up application.

HiThe visit didn't quite work out as expected because of the problem of no running water.However this was very professionally and considerately dealt with by the staff.Particular thanks toTannya (hope I've spelt that correctly) for providing me with a large flask of hot water overnight.Will be seeing you again for a couple of 3 day stays in early & mid January

Room very pleasant, warm and clean.Lighting was really good, which is really unusual in a hotel nowadays.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.We were glad that we had a ground floor room because the weather was dreadful and m6 disabled partner would have found the outdoors stairs very difficult.Food was excellent.The only drawback for us , was the walk around the building from the reception to the bedrooms; no problem if one is fit and mobile.Would certainly stay again.

Overnight stay for meeting with family. Double room very spacious with good hot shower. Rooms in separate block do no noise from pub. Very friendly staff from the start. Good food and good value when bought with Dinner, B&B package.

For one night quite happy but had a few issues one food cold had to be taken back and then when leaving aftee settling our bill the night before saying we still owed money..Makes your stay less pleasurable when you then have to go through everything before leaving ..rooms are outside which are nice but need a good cobweb sweep. Staff are very pleasant

It is a beautiful coaching inn full of character. Only about 10 mins from Blenheim Palace which is where we were visiting. Lovely room, excellent dinner and breakfast . Well worth a visit even if just for a meal but would advise booking as they get very busy.

The character of this pub/hotel is very pretty , all the furniture and fixtures are good quality and our room was very clean . We stayed in a room at the rear of the main building , easy to check in , easy to access and a great loacation for Blenheim Palace / Bicester and Oxford. We wished we could have stayed longer to have had a meal in the pub as it was very inviting and busy , which is always a good sign . Check in at reception was easy and very friendly .

We had 2 nights here in order to visit Oxford. Although in a country setting there was a bus stop outside running every hour. A very convenient 25 min journey.Rooms are basic motel style but have all the usual conveniences. Our room was quiet and the bed linen immaculate. The food was....well congratulations to the chef. Don’t replace him/her. Although basic pub menu the vegetables and accompaniments were certainly Home style and fresh. (Not just chips) the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. Sadly I didn’t have pudding as too full.Parking plentiful and staff amazing. Thankyou to Deenafor being so helpfully with bus times.Yes would go again as handy for Blenheim and Oxford.

Our fourth stay at Sturdys whilst volunteering at Blenheim Palace horse trials. We had room only as we had early starts. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings. Food was fine although took a while to arrive. Staff friendly. Just had an issue with only having one pillow each. We asked for two more which was attended to quickly. They didn’t have pillow protectors on them so had lots of browny yellow stains on from sweat and saliva. Could do with replacing. We will probably rebook for next year.

All staff were very pleasant and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble and the 'mistake' was handled quickly and efficiently' Couldn't ask for more from the staff. Lovely menu, shame they don't do 'lunch'.

We booked the Sturdy's Castle following a friend's referral and many excellent tripadvisor reports.The double room was airy, well appointed, spotlessly clean and 2 mins walk from the main restaurant.Both dinner and breakfast menu's were extensive, offering superbly cooked dishes at competitive prices.Would have no hesitation in referring this hotel to others, for business and pleasure, as only 5 mins from London Oxford Airport, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds.Booking already made for September 2019!

What a beautiful hotel the bedroom is very nice and comfortable the power shower is really nice and hot the food is very tasty staff are friendly and helpful especially Tanya she can’t do enough for guests and is so lovely would definitely recommend staying at the hotel and would stay again

We booked the one evening as we were visiting Oxford and then moving on for the weekend. The accommodation was clean and modern and rooms very tastefully done. All the staff seemed very pleasantwith a friendly manner. We ate an evening meal and breakfast and enjoyed both meals. If we are in the area for another visit we would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Chana is worth her weight in gold to this place and a great front of house and everything else she doseThis is really close to Blenheim palace and so much more. The room was very clean, the noise levels in the room was very good aswell considering the main road and car park. It was very nice to have my drink at the bar served in a frosted glass,especially with the weather we were having.

I came to stay for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the overall stay. The rooms were clean and tidy (only negative would be, is they were a bit back dated), the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the quality of the breakfast was outstanding.

Enjoyed our stay. Lovely, helpful staff and good food.

Sturdy Castle is a perfect place to stay, the accommodation is spacious, clean, well maintained and none of those little extras forgotten. We enjoyed a great meal in the restaurant, which was very reasonable. The breakfast offered lots of choice and was delicious. Lastly the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommended!

Stayed for one night prior to visiting Countryfile Live at Blenheim. Reception staff were very welcoming and we were shown to room. The room was clean and comfortable. In the very hot weather it was rather warm, but a fan was supplied which helped. The bathroom was a bit shabby and clearly in need of a revamp. Of particular note was the ‘spongy’ floor under the flooring which may have indicated a leak somewhere? Despite this all was adequate. The bar was small but friendly and the restaurant served good food. All in all for the price this was a good choice.

We stayed for Dinner B&B, very friendly staff, good service, excellent value for money particularly for the area, menu more pub grub than haute cuisine but could not fault for the price. On a noisy road which meant keeping the room window shut.

Apart from the extremely friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Generous onsite parking was a big plus and the location, though a bit far from the city centre, was compensated for by an excellent restaurant and very reasonable rates. I would not hesitate to recommend Sturdy’s Castle to other travellers.

Neededplace close to the village of Tackley and found Sturdys castle. Stayed for 2 nights. 1st night are in the restaurant. Great food, well priced and huge portions.Rooms - comfy, spacious and clean and MASSIVE bonus having full sky package in the rooms. Only minor negative was that extractor fan didnt work (room20).Brilliant breakfast included in the price and good wifi coverage across the whole site.Staff here are really efficient, hard working and friendly. Credit to the venue.Very well placed for visiting Woodstock / Blenheim Palace.

We stayed in room 5 . bedroom very clean and tidy but sadly let down by poor quality mattress that sank in the middle ! problem with bathroom floor reported to management but felt no one followed it up - pots with cigarete buts left outside ours and other bedroom doors is not acceptable - better to have a designated area for smokers. Would we stay againprobably yes.

We stayed here for one night and what a great experience. None of us could fault the Inn in any way. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the service, by such friendly and helpful staff, was excellent, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were outstanding. Will recommend to anyone and will definitely return.

The hotel & restaurant are located in a great place for Oxford and surrounding areas. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, the food in the restaurant was superb, the rooms immaculate, the only thing I would suggest is perhaps having memory foam mattresses to give a perfect night's sleep. We stayed he just for the night, on arrival we were greeted and shown to our room, staff very pleasant and helpful, hadn't booked a table but they got us a space, and booked us in for breakfast. Food was very good and plentiful. staff couldn't do enough for us. Snow fell over night and very deep, after breakfast, staff were willing to help dig us out if need be, very concerned for our wellbeing, and gave advice on what roads to take home, would certainly reccomend the Sturdys castle as a lovely place to stay.

This was our 3rd visit in 12 months and it was a very enjoyable and pleasant weekend break and the room was nice and spacey with friendly staff and situated in a peaceful village and I would definitely recommend it

Our first stay at Sturdy's Castle and we were very impressed by our warm welcome, the staff were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. We ate in the hotel on the first evening of our arrival from sheer convenience without any high expectations but were pleasantly surprised, especially the fussy vegetarian!I don't think this will be our last visit to Sturdy's, it is very convenient for Oxford park and ride and all the prettiest villages. We've had a lovely few days, thank you.

My sister and I were very pleasantly surprised by our room.It was lovely.The only problem was the steepness of the outside stairs. The restaurant was very good.In fact, we ate supper there besides our morning breakfast and were happy with both. If we hadn't had reservations at another place we probably would have spent our entire week there.It was very well situated for touring the Cotswold.

Only stayed one night but very pleased and will stay again.Sharma and all of the staff were extremely helpful,pleasant and very friendly.Food is good and the log fire in the bar very welcoming.The room was a bit cold when we checked in but as the heating is night storage heaters it warmed up later.Was lovely and cosy overnight.If I have one little niggle it’s that the curtains in the rooms let too muchlight in from outside ( the residential area is very well light up) and need to be blackout.This is because I need a totally dark room to sleep well.

We stayed here on Saturday night following a visit to Blenheim Palace. Our superior room was in a lovely setting overlooking a courtyard and was well appointed with Sky TV and good quality furnishings. We ate in them restaurant on Saturday night which provided good service and good sized portions, my allergies were well supported by the friendly staff. We also ate breakfast there the following morning, plenty of choice and good quality. We will definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.

A good clean room and good food individually prepared and cooked and presented beautifully. My wife was on crutches and I had to work in the evening. The staff were all so incredibly kind and thoughtful to her whilst I was away. The staff here are exceptional. Can’t really find the words to say how much we appreciated this. Very clean and smart. Rooms outside at back in two story modern block. Outside metal staircase to access first floor could be a prob for some esp in bad weather. Food standard pub stuff but good enough. Paid "top dollar" so disappointed that it wasnt more "unique".

Myself bridesmaids stayed here the night before my wedding and the night of the wedding with the groom also had a 2yro with us. Rooms clean bed in room 18 was comfortable but room 19 had a different type of mattresses and was springy and not so comfortable. We had dinner on the Friday was nice(as always)the lady on shift was lovely and nothing was to much bother even with the 2yro (the mess) the same for breakfast on the Saturday. The house keeper was lovely. Sausages were nice bacon not so much i think breakfast was over priced coffee was not great and cheap tasting apple juice but was all nicely cook and came out hot. The bread they used for toast was lovely and thick. I will definitely eat here again but as i live oxfordshire i have no need to stay again but would recommend it if to family and friend. 4* its very good just not excellent for the pricey breakfast and the mattress.

I cannot say enough about how good this place is. 30 years ago this was one of my favorite pubs when I was in the USAF at RAF Upper Heyford. This time traveling with my daughter, we spent a night and had dinner (and breakfast). WOW. Room had all the amenities (even had 42" LCD TV), was immaculate and the dinner was very good. I had a gluten free English breakfast and it was fabulous. Highly satisfied.

We had a very nice stay in Sturdy's Castle, friendly staff ,lovely breakfast and nice room. Just one thing the hair dryer in the room had a 4 ft lead but was 8 ft from the mirror so couldn't use it.

I have stayed at Sturdy's castle a couple of times before, and that is why I have just book to stay again. The place is spotlessly clean, with nice little complementary bits and pieces, you know Tea Coffee, Biscuits Water and so on. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was plentiful and well cooked. They had a very nice bar area well stocked with all drinks except for the beer. If you are a beer drinker the a choice of only two beers was a little disappointing, but that doesn't distract from what is a very nice place to stay. I would certainly recommend it to all my friends and colleagues as first class.

We had a great stay at Sturdys, food was top notch all the way and the staff very friendly making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The room was clean and comfortable, just what we needed whilst working in the area

Stayed just one night when visiting Blenheim Palace Flower Show. Everything very good -room - location - breakfast. Very clean and comfortable spacious room.

This was my 3rd stay here and they've secured my loyalty. I'd happily recommend this really well-run establishment to anyone. Warm welcome, fantastic staff, excellent food (dinner and breakfast) and very clean and comfortable room. Guests are well looked after here, and there's a good atmosphere about the place. 10 out of 10 for me!

We stayed here to go to an event at Blenheim Palace. The hotel is walkable, although in the end we got a taxi £10 to the palace. The room was very clean with everything you need for a quick stay. We didn't have the breakfast in the end as you have to decide on check-in.Good location for Blenheim and accessing the Cotswolds.

Very nice place, room was good, the bar area and service throughout was excellent. no complaints whatsoever. I Would use Sturdy's castle again no problem.
